Trucking Crash Animation
We've created animations and legal graphics on hundreds of trucking cases. In addition to all the "normal" issues related to motor vehicle accidents, commercial vehicle cases often involve the available field of view in mirrors, conspicuity tape, DriveCam video, black box data, highway hypnosis, or loading issues. We've worked on truck cases for over 25 years.

Fuel Truck Traffic Jam Crash
A commercial fuel truck driver, on his daily route through a congested area, failed to brake for stopped traffic. Drivers in front of and behind him were able to stop. The animations demonstrate the view available to a driver, relative positions of other cars and the distance to impact. |
PIckup Hits Fuel Truck
A young driver lost control of a pickup truck and struck a fuel truck's front wheel. Both vehicles ran off the road and the drivers were killed. This animation shows the expert's reconstruction based on the physical evidence and the view of witnesses who were following the trucks. |
Sun Glare & Garbage Truck
A pickup truck was traveling 20 mph over the speed limit on a curvy, hilly road. The driver was facing directly into the glare of the sun and reacted to the garbage truck at the last instant. |
Highway Hypnosis
Multiple trucks pulled off a busy interstate for inspection at a temporary weigh station. They were followed by a pickup whose driver was in an apparent state of "highway hypnosis". He followed the nearly stopped trucks onto the shoulder of the road, swerving at the last moment and striking the rear of the last trailer in line. |
Delivery Truck at Railroad Crossing
A commercial truck was making deliveries. Icy roads and the speed of the vehicle caused it to go into the path of the oncoming train. |
